Lindsay Halm on KOMO – Washington bikini baristas awarded $1.8 million in unpaid wages, stolen tips

Sep 08, 2026

SGB attorney Lindsay Halm spoke with KOMO News following a King County Superior Court ruling awarding over $1.8 million to 70 bikini baristas who sued Beehive Espresso owner Alan Tagle over unpaid wages, stolen tips, and other workplace violations.

In the interview, Halm recounted that Tagle failed to pay employees the correct minimum wage, did not compensate them for all hours worked, denied sick pay, and barred baristas from taking jobs at different stands – each in violation of Washington law.

SGB attorneys Lindsay Halm and Andy Boes represented the baristas, along with Janae Choquette from the Working Washington Rights Center.
