Dr. Mulholland was a Tri-Cities OB-GYN, who worked in Richland, Washington for Providence Kadlec Regional Health Medical Health Center and at Kadlec’s Clinic, Associated Physicians for Women (APW).

Dr. Mulholland began practicing medicine in Washington state in 1999. He practiced at Kadlec, a Providence-owned and operated clinic, as recently as 2025.

Isabelle Shain is a Litigation Project Manager for these cases. She graduated from Vanderbilt University and has dedicated her career to advocating for survivors of exploitation and abuse. Her experience includes working on sex trafficking cases at the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and conducting research on international sex trafficking for the United Nations. She has specialized training in trauma-informed practices for survivors of sexual abuse. Outside of her work at SGB, Isabelle has coached the University of Washington Mock Trial Team for more than a decade.

Anastasiya Marchenko is a Litigation Support Specialist with over 8 years of experience assisting attorneys and clients throughout the litigation process. Fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, she works closely with clients, helps manage medical records and discovery, and supports case preparation through all stages of litigation, including trial. Anastasiya enjoys the investigative side of litigation and takes pride in helping organize complex cases and ensuring that clients feel supported along the way. She values building strong relationships with clients and understands the importance of clear communication during what can often be a stressful time. Outside of work, Anastasiya enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, rock climbing, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Melina Nalepa is a Senior Litigation Paralegal with a Criminal Justice degree and many years of hands-on experience supporting litigation teams. She has assisted in many complex cases through trial, including a federal trial in Denver, Colorado that resulted in a successful plaintiff award—an experience that strengthened her understanding of litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy. Melina is passionate about helping clients navigate difficult situations and takes pride in contributing to meaningful, results-driven outcomes. Outside of work, Melina enjoys hiking, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with her family and grandbaby.

Jordan Schaefer is an experienced personal injury paralegal who has spent the last seven years in personal injury litigation, helping clients of all ages, races, and genders navigate the aftermath of traumatic events. He is driven by a deep sense of compassion and a dedication to securing justice for those who have been wronged. Jordan takes pride in his empathetic nature and strives to bring that into every aspect of his life.

Alexa Jaime is the team’s trauma-informed case manager based in SGB’s Tri-Cities office. A bilingual (English/Spanish) victim advocate, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Eastern Washington University and certification in Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management. Alexa has experience supporting individuals and families facing trauma, mental health challenges, and crisis situations through work in victim advocacy, suicide prevention, school counseling, and community outreach. She is dedicated to helping clients access resources, feel supported, and navigate difficult circumstances with dignity and respect.

Lauren Carter is the team’s discovery specialist. She holds certifications in Advanced Paralegal Studies and eDiscovery Analysis from Edmonds College. She has built a diverse professional background spanning litigation support in law offices and eDiscovery support within the vendor space. Her years of experience have given her a broad perspective of the unique needs of legal teams across the country ranging from large to boutique law firms.

SGB has been the driving force in advancing the interests of survivors and making sure Dr. Mulholland, Kadlec, the Providence defendants are held responsible for their actions. To date, SGB has filed numerous lawsuits on behalf of dozens of clients (a sample Complaint is available here). SGB has also prevailed all contested motions. Here is a brief overview of the successes we’ve had in court for our clients, along with examples of strong briefs our lawyers prepared.

• Early on, Dr. Mulholland filed repeated motions asking the Court to remove language from Plaintiffs’ Complaints, arguing it was inflammatory or offensive. SGB defeated these motions (see SGB’s opposition). In one case, the judge initially agreed with Dr. Mulholland, but SGB was able to convince the judge to reconsider the ruling (see motion), agreeing with SGB (order available here).

• SGB defeated all nine of Dr. Mulholland’s motions to transfer cases from King County to Benton and Franklin Counties, which Providence/Kadlec supported (see SGB’s opposition). One of the many judges who denied Dr. Mulholland’s motion said, “King County Superior Court seems more readily equipped to get these 41 cases (and growing) to trial in a just and speedy manner.” (A copy of the order is available here).

• SGB filed countless motions to ensure the privacy of survivors was protected and to allow clients to proceed under pseudonym. Dr. Mulholland initially fought these motions (sample here), claiming the names of survivor’s should be disclosed to the public. But SGB prevailed in each motion (a copy of an order is available here). To date, more than 100 survivors have been allowed to proceed under pseudonym and no one has been denied the option to protect their identity.

• We have filed dozens of class actions representing thousands of plaintiffs in wage cases, including prevailing at the United States Supreme Court on behalf of workers in the Tri-Cities (see IBP, Inc. v. Alvarez, 546 U.S. 21 (2005));

• Represented a class of 59 households harmed by contaminated water;

• Represented many women sexually harassed by one male supervisor in a case against a national retail chain;

• Represented 43 families against Monsanto for chemical exposures in a public school;

• Represented a large group of Spanish speaking clients from Tri-Cities and Yakima against an electrical company.
