Schroeter Goldmark Bender attorney Adam Berger worked with Columbia Legal Services to help secure a $3.75 million settlement after filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of more than 500 farmworkers in Whatcom County.
The workers filed suit charging that Munger Farms and its labor recruiters violated Washington farm labor contracting laws and that workers were subject to intimidation and unfair labor practices while working for Munger. Dozens of workers were fired and evicted from their housing after protesting the working conditions.
“We are committed to protecting the rights of farmworkers throughout Washington to ensure just wages and safe working conditions,” Berger said.
