Schroeter Goldmark & Bender Names Carson Phillips-Spotts and Andy Boes as New Shareholders

SEATTLE – Schroeter Goldmark & Bender (SGB) recently welcomed Carson Phillips-Spotts and Andy Boes to the Seattle-based law firm’s shareholder group, recognizing their leadership and commitment to advocating for individuals and workers who have been harmed.

Since joining SGB, both attorneys have built practices focused on holding powerful institutions accountable. Through their work representing injured individuals, workers facing discrimination or wage theft, and consumers harmed by unfair practices, Phillips-Spotts and Boes have helped secure meaningful outcomes for clients while advancing SGB’s longstanding mission of pursuing justice on behalf of those who need it most.

Phillips-Spotts joined SGB in 2021 and has focused his practice on representing individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries due to dangerous or defective products and the negligence of others, as well as workers and groups of workers facing discrimination, harassment, or wage theft. He has secured numerous successful outcomes for clients in complex cases, including helping obtain an eight-figure settlement in a recent product liability case. He is known for his dedication to standing up for people.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law and previously clerked for a justice on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He lives in West Seattle with his wife and two children and currently serves as a board member of the Judicial Institute, a nonprofit organization working to diversify Washington State’s judiciary.

Boes joined SGB in 2021 shortly after graduating from Harvard Law School and has built his practice representing people harmed by the wrongdoing of powerful institutions. He focuses his work on fighting discrimination, advocating for fair workplaces, and protecting consumers from exploitation. In 2024, Andy helped secure a $21 million jury verdict in a race discrimination case against a large hospital, reflecting his commitment to racial justice and inclusive workplaces.

In addition to his litigation practice, Boes serves on the Legislative Steering Committee for the Washington State Association for Justice and represents asylum seekers on a pro bono basis. Before law school, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Peru. Boes lives in Ballard with his partner and their son.
