In March 2019, SGB filed a class action lawsuit in King County Superior Court against Johnson Controls Fire Protection, LP on behalf of sprinkler inspectors, fire sprinkler systems inspectors, fire service technicians and employees who held similar job classifications alleging that Johnson Controls failed to pay prevailing wage rates for work done at public facilities, including overtime. Johnson Controls removed the action to the United States District Court in Seattle, Washington.

On July 29, 2022, the Court granted final approval a class action settlement in this matter. Follow the links to view important documents in the case.

If you were employed by Johnson Controls to conduct fire alarm, sprinkler, and fire suppression system testing and inspections in state and local government buildings in the State of Washington at any time between March 5, 2016, and August 17, 2020, you may be entitled to an award under the settlement. Award checks should be sent out by late September 2022.
